The Moving Ollie
Have you mastered Ollieing in the crack yet (no pun intended:))? Well, if you have, then you can move up a step. Ollieing while moving is a lot of fun, and it will lead you to bigger tricks like the kickflip or the pop shove-it. For the moving Ollie to be successful, you need to go somewhere where there is a long stretch of road or pavement. Start pushing until you get going pretty fast, not too fast though. Now if you're comfortable, do an Ollie. Remember to stomp your back foot and slide your front foot. Practice this until you've got the hang of it. Once you get the hang of it, find something small, preferably a pencil. Can you Ollie over that? Well when you do, you can move onto something bigger. I am able to Ollie onto a curb. After you can Ollie over big things, you can start practicing on curbs. Ollie off and on curbs. Its a lot of fun when you are able to do it well. To help you remember to practice, you can set an alarm to go off at a certain time in the day. whatever works for you, I practice for thirty minuets every day. You can do thirty, forty-five, even one hour! Whatever you feel like you need to do to accomplish this trick. Keep practicing and don't stop when it gets hard.

The Ollie
The Ollie is the trick that you must learn in order to do a lot of the other tricks. For all you rookie skaters, you should practice Ollieing first. The Ollie was the first trick I learned. Now here's what your going to need in order to accomplish this trick: 1. A complete skateboard. 2. A smooth surface with a crack in it. Take your back wheels and put them into the crack. Then put your right foot on the tail of the board. If you push with your left foot, then you need to put your left foot on the back. I push with my right, so I will say it the way I do it. Then put your left foot just under the front bolts. If you have succeeded the steps I have already said, then stomp your right foot on the tail. While you do that, slide your left foot up the front of the board. That allows the board to go into the air evenly. You must do both at the same time in order to get all four wheels off the ground. Practice this a lot, and never stop!

How it all started
I started skating through friendship. Last year my best friend got a new Powell Peralta skateboard. He showed it to me and I loved it! From that point we skated together every chance we got. It was on Christmas day last year that I really got into it. I got a Tony Hawk skateboard, and went out side and practiced tricks for hours that day! It was then and there that I started becoming a skater. I looked on my computer what skaters wear, what they do. Then when I went back to school, I experimented. I probably went through ten outfits till I found the design I liked. I love flat billed caps! I have worn them all year. It took me about a year to learn and master the Ollie. I am about to turn fifteen and I have almost mastered the moving Ollie. the next trick I am hoping to master is called the kickflip. In later posts I will tell you how to do tricks. I will also post pictures of me doing the tricks that follow the pictures.
